This restaurant was in a tiny space in a strip mall off the freeway, serving the best cheese curds, ribs, and walleye we had ever had when it first opened. Once the secret got out, we couldn't get in. So, The Phoenix expanded and got even better! Now they have a real dining room and separate bar, so whenever we want our favorites, we can get in. They have a "hands on" owner, who knows, loves, and cares about the food when he has asked us, "How is it?" He just beams when talking about food. The staff is efficient, the place is jumping, and the wood fired pizza is also great. We drive 60 mile round trip just for the food, we love this place, and there is more room for expansion in that strip mall, which The Phoenix just may need.
