The kids loved it- pricey. Should definitely be interested in the topic for the cost....and maybe better for 8+. Our 5 year old was bored at the beginning.

Guide and handler very knowledgeable. I thought we would be able to actually experience the birds ourselves. However, there was only a "photo opportunity" with the bird on one's arm. $120 each for about 1 hour.

The falconry class was fun, educational and interesting. Cody (handler) was very knowledgeable and personable. You can tell he cares about the birds even though there are no documented cases of birds reciprocating that feeling for their handlers. We had great weather and perfect sized class to listen and be up close with the birds. They are truly fascinating - especially our eager hawk who antipcated one of the demonstrations and had everyone laughing as he beelined in for the faux prey a little too early :-) I think that older children may find it more interesting than younger children, based on the reaction of some of the younger attendees, since it is a lot of discussion and Q&A. There are plenty of chances for photographing the birds and even a photo-op moment at the end while holding the bird yourself - which you can take yourself or have them take - do it yourself, that is FREE!!. The activity is a bit expensive, but since they are likely funding the care of the birds and Cody’s salary through the classes it was worth it to us.

My friend and I enjoyed our "class", but it is quite expensive for the experience you get. However, it is educational and maybe a once in a lifetime experience. We got a good lesson on the history of the sport and the birds. Our instructor, Cody, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us very good demonstrations of the the hawk's hunting prowess. We got to hold the food and the bird landed right on our arms. He indicated that we got a very good experience because it was just the two of us. If it is a larger group, not everyone gets to feed the bird, but you do get a picture with it. It doesn't seem like the price you pay would be worth it if you are in a larger group.

My son and I learned so much, and the experience of having a huge falcon land on your gloved arm was awesome! I encourage anyone to have this experience whether you are traveling with small children, teenagers, or as a couple.
