We are fairly local and have eaten here 5 times since they opened, including our church's Valentine supper for 36 of us. The restaurant is set in a lovely old bank building in the middle of Summersville. Approached by a flight of steps, the restaurant is airy and spacious with high ceilings and dining on two floors, including balcony seating. The food preparation area is fully visible from the restaurant and the dedicated staff work hard to keep the food supplied to diners. The original vault is open to the restauarant and used for storage. The food has always been freshly-prepared and served by enthusiastic, professional staff, and the quality is top-notch. Hubby has officially declared their barbeque ribs to be THE best he's ever tasted in his life (and he's a 4th generation Californian approaching his 67th birthday!). I will warrant that their crabcakes, whether in a sandwich or served as an appetiser or main.. are the most delicious that I have ever had. I had a daily special as an appetiser one day. It was scallops served in a wonderful fresh orange sauce with jalapenos and it was spectacular. Needless to say, inside of an hour of the restaurant opening they had gone! There is a good array of soft drinks but there is no alcohol license. The coffee is fresh and a meal is inexpensive. I love their side of roasted fresh vegetables. Good home-made slaw too. Their ranch dressing is wonderful. Home-made, like ALL their salad dressings. And the side-salads are great. No iceberg lettuce here! Greek side salad has Kalamatas olives and feta cheese with lashings of olive oil for instance. Portions are generous.. so good that as of this date, we have not managed to get as far as dessert! The atmosphere is always lively. This is now our fave restaurant in Summersville, approaching the standards of the Sunset Grill in Craigsville, our other fave. HIGHLY recommended!
