We were in town overnight on the way home from a family vacation in NC and decided to try Longhorn Steakhouse for a good meal. Everyone was tired and hungry. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told that there would be a 15 - 20 minute wait so we sat down and started to talk about where else we could get dinner without having to wait. About 1 minute later we were called to get seated. Our waitress was very good about promptly getting our order taken. We all decided to try Flo's Filet dinner. The different options for sides were great. Our waitress delivered our fresh baked bread very promptly but we waited a long time for our side salads to come. When they did arrive, they were fresh and we all liked the various dressings we had ordered. Unfortunately our dinners took a long, long time to come out. We took our first bites of our filets and needed to fan our mouths and use our bread and water to try to cool our mouths as these were the spiciest and saltiest steaks we had ever eaten! I did not say anything to our waitress because we were afraid of how long it might take to get unseasoned steaks and by that time wanted to go back to the hotel and get some sleep. Two of us ordered sautéed onions as an extra and those had quite a bit of black pepper on them. I just wished that there was something on the menu to let people know that these steaks are highly seasoned. We had eaten at Outback Steakhouse not too long ago and they allow you to choose which style you would like your steak prepared. I'm not sure I would go back to a Longhorn after spending over $100 on steaks we could barely tolerate. My whole motivation for writing this review is to try to let people know if they do not like highly seasoned steak to request this when ordering!!
