We decided to try out the Happy Days Cafe on our visit, and found it not to have the charm and or quality that we assumed was there upon reading the reviews. I asked for the fried chicken dinner special and was told that they only had thighs. I said that wouldn't be my choice. The waitress said that they would see if they had white meat. She came back and said that they had one breast and she ordered the white meat for me. Of course, when I got my meal - it was the thigh and it was just put on the table. Now, I would assume the waitress would know that my dinner was not a chicken breast - but not a comment was made when the meal was placed on the table - just put it down and walked away. For $8.95 - I got a thigh (about three to four medium bites), a small scoop of potato salad and a scoop of baked beans. They call that the special!!! Generally most diners give you at least 3 pieces for that amount. However, you would assume that if I made a point of asking for white meat I could have at least got that (obviously the cooks don't know the difference) and she checked and it was indicated on the bill that she placed on the table along with my husbands hoagie ( $6.95 - if you could call it a hoagie). It was on a bun a little larger than a hot dog bun. It was perhaps 6 to 7 inches long. Never came back to ask how things were or to check on our drinks; and then when checking out; never asked how things were. I understand why they don't come back or ask when you check out! I do not understand how this place stays in business. I usually don't write reviews - but this was absolutely the worst experience with dining in all our travels. The price was outrageous for all that you got and it wasn't at all that tasty and we were far from filled!
