The village at Snowshoe has a great feel to it. Charming character and fun places to eat and enjoy the village nightlife. Well maintained and easy to get around.

Intrawest has done a really nice job with the ski resort. Definitely the best in the Mid-Atlantic. The village is quaint with a real ski resort feel to it. Plenty of places to stay and a decent variety of places to eat (although they are pricey). Some nice shops as well. Don't plan on leaving the village area, it takes a good hour and 30 minutes to make the 55 mile drive to the resort from the interstate. Basically a two-lane road with a lot of 18-wheelers on it. We drove up it in snow and ice. Make sure you stay in the village area if you go to Snowshoe. Some decent places include the Allegheny Springs hotel/condo (where we stayed) and the Rimfire Lodge. It was also a great place for young kids to learn to ski. Signed our 7-year-old up for ski lessons on two consecutive days and he had one other person in his class so it was like getting private lessons. They did a great job with him and he loved skiing!

Access to food, shopping, and coffee. Nice stores, clean, and lots of places to put skis up. Great for a little reprieve from long day in snow.

I loved the size & character of this village. Not too big which is great after a day of skiing or a night of drinking. Plenty of restaurants and shops, close to all resorts in the village.

The restaurants are rude and the food is sub par. The shops are cute, but they could be so much nicer and have better customer service.
