“Worst Stay Ever The Inn At Snowshoe”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

No cell service, Wi Fi works some days not others in designated areas only.No room service for Wi Fi or food. Someone Puked on the stairway. It was there for two days . I finally cleaned it up myself. They Charge $124.dollars based on one person for the room and thirteen more for two people in a four person room? plus $15.dollars more for state and local taxes. Really it's $150 plus per night."Only Breakfast At The INN" .No lunch No dinner. Rooms do not have anyway to cook or store food."You will go hungry". A Two and a half hour wait for food at the top of the mountain. At the ( Foxfire Grill Or The Junction) .No refrigerator no microwave no coffee maker. They lost power Sunday so no Breakfast bar was served.Once again You Will GO HUNGRY. Other that that its okay.

Room Tip: Don't do it.Suggestions: donate your money to charity?.Or Take your family somewhere nice and...

The hotel is a older lodge but taken care of. The pool and hot tub area was very nice. It appears this lodge caters to tour bus groups. The rooms are clean the showers are very small.

One thing to note when staying in this area is the limited eating establishments. After riding the Cass scenic railway we were looking for dinner we had a group of 6.
We happen to arrive at the same time as a tour bus. The restaurant at the hotel was closed due to the tour bus. However they indicated they would accommodate our party. The cost would be $22.00 per person. After looking for places to eat prior to going to the hotel we realized we didn't have a choice. You had 5 or 6 choices to choose from. On the menu The food was decent and considering the amount if people they were serving the service was par.

One other note there is no cell service in this county due to a national radio lab. The only wi-fi at the hotel is in the lobby.

What more could you ask for....clean rooms, indoor pool and hot tubs, extensive breakfast included and a free shuttle to the mountain. If you don't care about staying right in the village or ski in/ski out facilities then this is where it's at. We'll stay there again for sure!

I had read the reviews and was a little unsure of what conditions I would find at this hotel. I found the room to be very comfortable and clean. The desk clerk was very nice and the restaurant gave us really good service considering they were dealing with two tour bus loads of people. I guess I did not find the Inn to be "outdated" and a lot of the reviews stated. I was not in anyway disappointed with the hotel. It was one of the quietest hotels I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: This was a very quiet hotel!

I have stayed here off and on since about 1985. The rates went up when I think they were bought by the company that owns about every hotel on the mountain. Still a decent deal when you figure it includes a buffet style breakfast in the restaurant in the hotel. The rooms are clean, nice and well maintained. I was told no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the break areas near the check in desk, restaurant and pub but my tablet worked in my room just fine. I was there at their slowest season, after summer, before ski season, so the restaurant was closed for dinner and the pub was closed. There is a nice small pool with a Jacuzzi on 2 corners. The people working there are genuinely pleasant to talk to and treat you well.

We just stayed here and it was our 2nd stay every. Stayed there about 5 years ago. It is a nice place. Pool and hot tubs are amazing. Breakfast buffet was delicious!! One of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a hotel and we've been to some pretty high class and expensive places.
Only had one snag........ Some rooms are nice and some, not so good. Some are a little rough! We had to change rooms because the first one we got smelled horrible! And the wall paper was peeling everywhere and looked kinda gross. The new room we got was great. No smells no issues. When we stayed 5 years ago our room was excellent. So, it was a nice place but you roll the dice with the room quality. Some are nice and some not so much. The whole place would be just fantastic if they would just get rid of or repair all that peeling wallpaper and maybe replace some carpeting here and there. I'd stay here again and keep my fingers crossed for a good room.
