the overall delight of dining at the Press Room. I went for my 50th birthday, and didn't go back until my 55th, but it will never be that long between visits again. The prices are high enough to make it a fairly special treat, but not so astronomical that you should avoid it.
I got the gorgonzola custard on both visits, and it would be worth going back for that alone. I dithered between the scallops and the grilled duck, and finally landed on the side of the duck, since I rarely treat myself to it and I figured I had a good shot of having it done right at this place. And it was a terrific gamble. That was hands-down one of the best entrees I've ever had. My husband's linguini carbonara was also incredible, and a very generous portion. We shouldn't have been able to stuff down any dessert after all that cuisine-y goodness, but managed to put away a helping each of lavender creme brulee, which was to die for. And on top of this, really really terrific service and ambience. The Press Room is officially one of my favorite restaurants, period.
