“Best of three we tried in Shepherdstown”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

We had rack of lamb and eggplant parmajon, two specials of the night. Both were superb! Our waiter was very helpful with suggestions. We had a bottle of chianti as well as tiramisu and cappachino. Couldn't be better

“the missing ingredient”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Ah, everything you expect from a fine restaurant - good atmosphere, good service, and nice presentation. Alas, the food left something to be desired - especially for vegetarians. I could find very little that wasn't meat on the menu, and when I ordered the vegetarian special of the day - surprize - pasta! And, a very uninspired "squash" pasta dish it was. So, there is always desert - hmmm, the Crème brûlée was, likewise, uninspired. It could have been a flamed custard from a mix! This was a Saturday night, but maybe the main chef was sick or on vacation. For the price, I expected, most importantly, something really good to eat. : (

“Best Seafood Paella”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Loved the Seafood Paella - definitely the best I had. The salad (arugula, pecan, pears) was delicious but very small portion for $8.

“Oyster Stew, Chilean Sea Bass and the Lavender Creme Brulee: Sublime”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

This restaurant is beautiful and cozy, the service and food are outstanding, and it is, in my opinion , the best reataurant in the area. And when they have it... The Chilean Sea Bass (corvina ) is cooked to perfection. Fortunately, the creme brulee is a staple, as is the oyster stew, which is delicious. I'll have to try the brunch one day...It's where I take friends for birthdays or special events...

“Excellent Italian Food”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

My wife and I were in Shepherdstown last year and tried to eat here - we couldn't get in without reservations (Friday night), but this time we called the day before and got in OK. From the service to the food and wine, this place was great. The atmosphere is nice, we were dressed in nice jeans and a nice shirt and didn't feel out of place, but others in the restaurant were dressed a little more formally.
