My wife and I stayed one night and had the Sunday brunch buffet the next morning. The Hotel is very nice and located within walking distance of the main street in Shepherdstown. The staff was excellent and everywhere we went we were greeted with a "happy anniversary". Our room was on the bottom floor of one of the Chalet's. The room had 2 queen beds a couch and a balcony. All of the furniture was very upscale and in good condition. The Balcony over looks the Potomac River and was great in the morning with a cup of coffee. There is a new infinity pool that is just finished and it is gorgeous. The pool itself would make an overnight stay worthwhile in the summer. We walked through Shepherdstown on Saturday evening. Be aware that most of the stores close at 6 on Saturday.
The Sunday brunch was fantastic. It was pricey but included just about anything you can imagine. Everything from seafood to Prime Rib. to made to order eggs and breakfast food. All of the food I had was outstanding.
Though the hotel is old. It still is a great overnight getaway for a couple. I highly recommend!
