Our stay at The Barn was dreamy. We felt so removed from the stresses of city life, and so at peace in the quaint and cozy quarters. The gentle rushing of the creek and melodic chirping of the birds put us into a deep and satisfied slumber. The sites around the Seneca House Barn are incredible too... lush forests, Seneca Rock, charming mountain towns, and mind-blowing wildlife of all kinds! We can't wait to go back!

- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Seneca House is a private home in Seneca Rocks with rooms for rent on weekends. There is also a renovated barn available throughout the week from May-October. Breakfast is not included with your stay, but if you stay in the house, you are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare your own meals. There is also a large common area both inside, and on the back deck where guests can hang out together. The house was built entirely by friends, without contractors, and was just completed in May 2012. It has some unique features, including a spiral staircase and stone fireplace. There is also a lot of reclaimed materials used throughout the house. The house is unique and the setting beautiful, located on a quiet country road, just 5 miles outside of Seneca Rocks. The area is a beautiful escape from the city. Outdoor activities, including rock climbing, great hiking, caving, fishing, and more abound. There are also some animals on the property. A hound dog lives in the house, and chickens and pygmy goats, cats and a peacock live outside. The dog, Bubba Lou, is a fantastic host, but if you don't like animals this probably is not the place for you! If you love animals, then you might want to try staying in the renovated barn. It has a private bathroom with hot shower, and a kitchenette. The barn is quaint, and close to the goats and chickens. The rooster gives a free morning wake-up everyday. *Pets are allowed in the barn, but not the house. Some exceptions might be made. ... more less
