“Seneca Rocks ROCKS!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Enjoyed a late summer week long trip to Seneca Rocks in 2012. The area is lovely and so scenic. We stayed at the Seneca Shadows Campground. Our campsite was quiet and relatively private (there was green space with trees between camp sites). It was very well maintained and clean. Bathhouse was also nice and cleaned daily.
The main attraction is of course the giant formation of Seneca Rocks. The trail was recently redone and was easy to navigate. This is a very steep climb but the reward is a great view from the platform near the top. Lots of other hiking and sight seeing opportunities nearby!

“Climb to the top”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

My wife and I hiked to the top of Seneca Rocks last September. We saw Seneca Rocks on a drive back to our rental home from BlackWater Falls State Park (must do!). The view from the bottom of the rock is simply awesome. It was the week after Labor Day weekend and it was a fairly quiet trek. Be prepared, the climb is strenous and you should be comfortable walking up an incline for one mile. Good hiking shoes are recommended, take plenty of water as it is humid in the forest on the way up. Allow 2-3 hours for this trip depending on how fast you want to go. We took our time and read all of the forest informational kiosks that were placed in good locations. Once to the top the view is tremendous. Be careful and do not climb higher than the signs allow. It is quite dangerous; The food at the restaurant across the street is okay, but the view from the porch is great. We highly recommend this attraction. We spent 9 days visiting state and national parks forest (Monogahela National Forest) and thoroughly enjoyed them.

“I love this place.”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

World class rock climbing in the east. Nice hiking trails. Not too many facilities near by. Nice visitor's center. Can eat accross the street up on the porch and watch the rock climbers through binoculars.
Outfitters here area very good.
Visit the variety store on the corner.

“Awesome!”

We took a horseback ride to the top of Seneca Rocks and it was awesome! If you are unable to do the hike I would suggest finding a place that takes you on horseback trail rides to the top.

“Climb t the summit”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

The main trail was closed when we were there but the sight is still breathtaking... The dirve to get there is scenic (and curvy) but worth the trip. Made for a very nice day trip from Harrisonburg.
