“Awesome!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We took a horseback ride to the top of Seneca Rocks and it was awesome! If you are unable to do the hike I would suggest finding a place that takes you on horseback trail rides to the top.

“Climb t the summit”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

The main trail was closed when we were there but the sight is still breathtaking... The dirve to get there is scenic (and curvy) but worth the trip. Made for a very nice day trip from Harrisonburg.

“Seneca Rocks”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

IT is a beautiful place to visit. The welcome center has lots of info. You can hike up or ride a horse up to the top at nearby stables. The scene is beautiful both from the top and bottom!

“Great hike on a perfect fall day”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

My husband and I completed the hike up in about hour - likewise coming down. We spent about an hour on top exploring other trails. We are in our late 50s and walk/exercise regularly. My husband could have done it faster alone. The views at the top are stunning in the fall with the leaves in full color. The day we hiked it was sunny, 72 degrees with a breeze and was perfect. Behind the observation deck there is a short trail that offers views of the top of the rock the technical rock climbers use. The day we hiked up, the top of the rock was crowded with climbers. Another way up leads to higher parts of the top of the rock. Large signs warn of the dangers. We passed many people of all ages and abilities on the ay up and down. There is no water so you have to take your own. There are a few spots to sit and rest if you need to. Coming down it is tricky in spots due to loose gravel that makes footing a little dicey. Wear hiking boots instead of sneakers and take a walking stick for the trip down.
