Prior to booking, I had inquired on the condition of the road as we had a motorcycle. I was told that it was mostly hardtop and the gravel was in good shape. Actually, the road was in need of repair, quite washed out with deep ruts and potholes.
The cabins are quite cute, but not very clean at all and appliances and furnishings are worn. Neither of us would get into the bathtub, there was still hair in the tub from the previous guests and from the smell in the bathroom, I doubt the floor had been washed with soap and water for awhile. The bed was comfortable enough but I'm glad we brought our own pillows and blankets. The hottub was dirty, you don't want to go there.
We had planned to use the barbeque but it was so old dirty and rusty we ended up using the oven instead. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans and dishes.
We enjoyed sitting on the deck. The cabin was beside a very small stream and we could look beyond into the pond. It was private enough for us and we were lucky that it was very quiet and peaceful when we were there.
Bottom line, is that I don't mind rustic, but theres really no excuse for not being clean, we felt ripped off for the $150+ that we paid. We love the area but felt a little ripped off. We will stay somewhere else next time we visit.
