Riverton is a very small community and there aren't many places to have someone else cook for you if you are staying nearby. The Gateway serves simple, well-prepared, and generally pretty tasty food for very reasonable prices in a big ole room. It is mostly populated with locals but if you are renting a cabin in the area as we were it is a good choice for the days when you don't want to cook.

I would recommend their "garbage omelet" for a morning when you are hungry, and the apple pie was really excellent. Service is friendly and you will go away full and with some money left in your wallet.

Went there with a group of 10 friends. The waitresses were friendly, quick, unharried, and attentive even with all the other customers in the place. The food and portion sizes were good.

My husband and I ate here several times since we were staying at a nearby cabin. The food was consistently excellent, portions were large, the service was friendly and the value was outstanding. Be sure to save room for dessert (or take some with you!)

Stopped here for lunch after zip-lining at Nelson Rocks. The burgers were fantastic & the service was exceptional. The prices were about $5 each for burger, fries, coke. The best part was the dessert. Blackberry Cobbler & Pecan pie. $5.50 per slice but so worth it. Clean facility & just a great place to stop for lunch.

My husband and I rented a cabin on Sprice Knob. After a week of driving by this restaurant we finally decided to give it a try. I got the Honey Fried Chicken while he got a special - Chicken Fried Steak. Both came with heaping sides - I choose sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and he choose corn and sweet potato fries. They were all very good! We were really hoping to try a pie since as we ate, the waitresses were slowly erasing the pies that were now unavailable (shows that they are made daily). But there was just too much excellent food! Definitely consider stopping by if you're at Spruce Knob or even Seneca Rocks!
