My husband and I just came home from a wonderful stay at the Mardi Gras Casino and resort and it was first class as far as cleanliness and service. The beds sleep great the lounge is wonderful and you could not get a better breakfast included in your stay. I take my hat off to you. Now the machines in the casino are quite tight they could stand to be loosened up !! But we had a great stay . Thank you all !!!

The rooms are quite large and very clean. This is a non-smoking hotel and casino and it does make a difference with the smell of the rooms. Beds are comfortable and furnishings are well appointed for the rooms. You do need to get one of their Players Cards, as you get a monthly mailer and discounts.

I was very please with the first class hotel that the Mardi Gras Casino & Resort proved to be! I was apprehensive about staying at a casino with a dog racing track, but all fears were immediately dispersed when I walked through the door. Everything was spotless (a major requirement for a '5' rating in my book). The staff was very polite, friendly, and accommodating.
I'm not a gambler so I can't report on the casino, but there are multiple dining options on-site. You can choose from coffee shop, burger cafe, all-American restaurant, bayou buffet, and a fine dining French Quarter. The whole place is New Orleans themed.
Rooms have flat screen TVs, mini-bars (with way more than just alcohol), comfy beds, nice towels, organic soaps (love this!) and Keurig coffee makers with a variety of coffee and teas supplied. And everything was clean and well maintained!
Breakfast was self-serve buffet but with the added benefit of custom prepared eggs and omelettes.
There was a very nice indoor pool and hot tub - both with lifts to assist someone with a disability. There is also a well-appointed fitness room.
The hotel is conveniently locate between Charleston and Huntington so it has easy access to any events in either city.
I will definitely choose this hotel again when staying in the area.

What a great mini vaca! We opted for the jr suite. the extra space was great! the free breakfast in the lobby was hot and the personalized omelet was a nice surprise. the casino is going thru a little renovation, but the layout was not too cramped and made it feel busier, like u were in a vegas casino. if you want to learn craps, talk to jay. my husband and I didn't know how to play, but he was patient and taught us the ropes! thanks for a great stay!

The food on this buffet is super good. Everything was kept hot and fresh. Plenty of good choices and a large salad section. Fresh donuts and coffee for dessert. Best casino buffet I've ever had by a mile.

As other reviewers have said this hotel has very thin walls. We chose a fourth floor room because we were told it would be a quiet location of the hotel. Not so...we were placed next to a family with young children. Not sure what the adults were doing, but the children were allowed to run and scream the entire visit. Even with calls to the front desk we were not moved. We were awoken at 6:45 AM to screaming that went on for two hours....

The rooms were a nice size and well appointed, but the lack of sound insulation ruined the stay for us.

It was a nice room, but there should probably be something done about the walls being thin. Staying Valentine's Day weekend was pretty awkward since we knew everything our neighbors at the hotel were doing...and felt like we were right there in the room with them. Also, when we arrived at 4:00, a room service tray had been sat out in the hallway to be picked up. We went to eat and play some slots. When we came back a few hours later the tray was still there. Besides that, we loved it. It was nice to park there at 4:00 and just not have to leave. Breakfast was great. Dinner at watching the dogs was nice. If they could do something about the thin walls, I'd give it a five.
