We thoroughly enjoyed this museum - the staff were attentive with lots of information to share about the different eras in Marx toys. I did not know anything about the company before visiting the museum, but learned just what an impact they had (on my childhood and many others').

Plenty of street parking nearby. Good signage throughout town to direct you there. One drawback is that they do not take credit cards. The entrance fee was a little high, but we spent a good long time reading about the many different displays and on the tour - so we felt like we got our monies' worth. Easily accessible from Wheeling and surrounding towns in PA and Ohio.

This is one of the prime tourists spots in Moundsville; it's very easy to find, signage is great, and it's also just a few minutes from the Penitentiary and Indian Mound Museum. We parked right in front, on the street, after we made sure this was OK with the museum employees. From the street it doesn't look like much, but once you get inside . . . wow! We were able to get a personalized guided tour, and the woman who took us around was wonderful. It was easy to see that she, too, was delighted with this museum and her enthusiasm was infectious. What's really amazing is not only the scope of the toys, but also how many original toy containers/boxes the owner has displayed--many of which are in pristine condition. I never knew that Marx created so many different themes for its toys, especially the little plastic figures. This is a museum that you may want to visit every time you're in the neighborhood, as it is so delightful. It can easily bring back sooo many memories. Also available are some toys for purchase. Another treat was that when we visited Moundsville we went first to the Penitentiary, and found $5 admission coupons for the Marx Museum, so we saved a few dollars using them. Definitely stop here; these toys aren't electronic nor sophisticated, but they harken back to days that were simple yet so precious. We need more attractions like this!!
