bones has a dance floor and a club feel and it has a separate "typical bar" area with a pretty good selection of liquors and beer

Typical bar food selections, though their burgers and chicken are very flavorful. You can choose between high bar stools or booth seating. Wait staff have been prompt and the food comes out in a reasonable time. Good downtown pick for lunch

Chic n' Bones is a bar - and it serves food you would expect to eat in a bar. Recently, I grabbed lunch at Chic 'n Bones for a change of pace. The food was actually surprisingly good and a hearty serving for the cost. The burger was homemade and well cooked. I was surprised by how tasty it was (I suppose I wasn't expecting too much). The waffle fries were fine - especially with ranch dressing. A friend ordered the chicken quesadilla, which looked to be made fresh. Our waitress was pleasant and food came out quickly so we weren't rushed to finish lunch (we were there a total of about 45 minutes). The decor is pretty typical for a bar in a college town. The only negative is that is has a smoky, dingy smell that you would expect in places people are still allowed to smoke indoors, but they at least appeared to make an attempt to cover the smell and we didn't leave reeking of smoke. I wouldn't hesitate going back to Chic n' Bones for a relaxed, no-frills lunch. Just understand that it is a bar - and if that's what you're looking for, it can be a pretty good place to grab bite and a beer.
