Mold growing in the bathroom shower on ventilation grilles
Ripped carpeting that you trip on.
Cigarette burns in the comforters and sheet in a non-smoking room Number 354
Polyester pillows that I wouldn't let my dog sleep on
Ripped upholstery in the chairs
A set of drawers that would not open because the vanity had collapsed in the middle
Wireless internet that doesn't connect and don't try calling the front desk
The rudest desk manager every that has been encountered - Veronica
She threatended to call the police when my spouse asked to adjust the bill for an overcharge.
It was not worth the $15 to deal with the aggravation.
The manager, Jean has yet to call us back.
They are are trying to rehabilitate a hotel that is only used to accomodate overflow of West Virginia football games where they triple the rates.
Parking area is filled with a dumpster and new bathtubs they ordered but hope that some local unemployeed contractor will install.
you would be better off sleeping in your car.
I am only sorry I did not take pictures to send to the department of health.

Stayed here 1 night during 2009 WVU Fall Family Weekend. This was our third trip to Morgantown and as far as hotels go, I'd rate this is a distant 3rd behind our other stays (Residence Inn and Holiday Inn Express). Distant 3rd!

As we were checking in late and leaving early, I didn't expect much and I wasn't disappointed.

As for the "pros": Check-in and check-out were smooth; the price was inexpensive (compared to the others listed above), the beds were comfortable, the pillows were plenty, and considering this was a last second booking...they had availability where all other hotels I contacted did not. The following "cons" probably explain the availability.

As for the "cons": the rooms were worn/dated (stains on the carpets, poor cable reception, generally dank and dark, etc...), exterior room entrance, and last but worst of all...the HVAC system was ineffective at maintaining temperature and circulating the air.

I have to elaborate on the HVAC as it will prevent me from staying here in the future. The operation of the HVAC system was pretty easy & impossible to mess-up (3 position button...Off / Warm / Cool settings plus a rotary dial to set a temperature between 50 and 90 degrees), so blaming the system failure on operator error is not possible. We're generally deep sleepers; however, by 3AM we were all awake because the AC was inoperable and only circulated warm air. Our room temperature had to be in the upper-80's and smelled of a sweaty locker. At 3 times during the night I had to sit by the open door for 15 minutes to allow the cool October air to circulate into our room. As you could imagine, at this time of the night leaving the exterior door open left me with security concerns. No, I didn't contact management at that hour...I accepted that would only result in furhter agitating me and resulting in even a lesser chance the family would get any sleep the rest of the night.

Bottom line, if you have no other choices, the Quality Inn would suffice, but don't expect a very comfortable stay.

We stayed ONE night (from hell) at this nightmarish hotel when we moved our son to WVU for his freshman year.

The kicker is that we are Choice Priveleges Members and discovered that there aren't really any priveleges for members.

Our room was damp and smelled of former pets. It was worn and ragged. There weren't enough pillows and the sheets and bed spreads had stains. Internet access was pathetic.

We complained to the desk that the room was musty and smelled, but we got NO assistance and were told that the place was full and they couldn't move us. A letter written to Choice Hotels merely prompted a letter from them and no other response.

The only redeeming experience was the free breakfast - very nice.

Pool was closed ~ would never stay here again.

Just an awful hotel. Went down to WVU for a football game and booked our trip a little later than usual so we didn't have a choice as to where we stayed. The 'quality' inn was the only place available, but quality isn't something this hotel is. It was horrible. It's just off the road behind a jiffy lube! The stairs going up to our room, which were outside, we're about to fall apart. The room was dark and dirty and the bathroom was disgusting. The toilet barely flushed, the tub was gross, etc. If you're really in a bind without anywhere else to stay for a night, it might be ok, but believe me if you have other options in morgantown you should definitely look elsewhere.

My family and I just spent two nights at this establishment over the weekend. The night desk clerk was very courteous and helpful. But there were several things beyond her control. The bed sheet was stained and never changed while we were there. The ice machine in our building was inoperable, mainly due to the cut water line and there was no vending in any of the 4 buildings. We had to go to the lobby to get fresh towels as the were never taken from the bathroom floor. But the most bothersome thing was the fact that someone went through our belongings while we were out and took a pair of my daughters sweatpants from the suitcase and took a hair band and some clips. It was reported to the desk person and there was no response from the management. If you need to stay in this area, there is an Econolodge, Bestwestern and others nearby. The rate was great but it ends there.

I was extremely disappointed in the Quality Inn. We had guaranteed reservations for two rooms, but when we arrived we were told that due to construction the heat wasn't working in most of the buildings and no rooms were available.

I understand that these things happen and are beyond the hotel's control, but we expected the Quality Inn to honor our reservation by finding a comparable hotel nearby for the same rate as our reservations. Instead, they offered to move us to a lower-quality, one-star motor lodge, which was unacceptable. Next we were offered a hotel seven miles on the other side of town despite several other hotels being nearby. When we suggested the Hampton Inn, which was one mile away, we were told it would be an extra $40 per room. Quality Inn did not offer to pay the difference and did not attempt to negotiate with the other hotel. We reluctantly accepted the Comfort Inn.

We would never recommend the Quality Inn to anyone, and we will never make another reservation there when we return to Morgantown.
