Great little place...Great food, diner style setting, very affordable, and the food is simple yet tasty. Thier buckwheat pancakes and sausage patties were scrumptious. The service was fast and it was pretty clean. Also seemed pretty popular. Would go there again and again!

“Good food in a rustic diner”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Don't let the outside of this establishment - which looks like a lawn mower repair shop - stop you from going inside for a hearty comfort food meal. Inside doesn't improve much but it is typical old diner with no efforts to atmosphere other than down home cookin'.

We saw this restaurant listed in our Road Food book and decided to give it a try as it was said to specialize in Ruby's 50 year old meatloaf recipe on Tuesdays. We asked to split the order and they kindly gave us each a plate with our own scoops of mashed potatoes & gravy and a diner bowl of delicious cole slaw. The meatloaf was good (not great or mind blowing mind you but good), and the service was fast and friendly. Would I go out of my way to go here again? No. But if I was in the area and real hungray - yes - and the filling meal was only $6 for the two of us, and $4.25 for a slice of blackberry pie that was delicious; and they split that for us too and we each got our own scoop of ice cream! Now that's hometown friendly. Didn't nickle and dime us for everything, had the meal on the table in about 5 minutes, and we left with full tummys. What more can you ask for on a Tuesday in Morgantown West Virginia. Happy dining!

“A great little find.”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

Ruby and Ketchy’s Kitchen – 2232 Cheat Road, Morgantown, WV, Open M-Sat 7 am -8 pm, Sunday 8 am to 8 pm. We were staying in Morgantown, WV for a week at the Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa and came across Ruby and Ketchy’s toward the end of our stay. Even though it was located only about ½ mile from the resort, it sets back from the road and doesn’t stand out. When we finally noticed and tried it, we realized it was a great find. The restaurant is locally owned and was started in 1958. Ruby and Ketchy have both sadly passed on some years ago but the management is still in good hands and the cooking is homemade. We ate there 3 times in two days, twice for lunch and once for dinner, and enjoyed every meal. And service and prices are great. According to the menu, three of the employees have a combined total of over 50 years. One of them, Debbie, was our waitress on all occasions we ate there and we couldn’t have asked for better service. As for prices, as an example, you can have country fried steak with gravy for $8.00 or 2 center-cut pork chops for $9.40. Hard to beat those prices. And all dinners come with bread and butter and two sides. On Friday nights, in addition to their regular menu, they have stuffed cabbage rolls. We can attest to their quality but get there early or order in advance if you want the cabbage rolls – they only make a certain amount and they go quickly. Ruby and Ketchy’s is very popular with locals and that is usually a pretty good sign. I recommend it highly.

A must stop in if you're driving through WV on I-68. It's off of exit 10. Not open late but open early for big country breakfast.
