“Out of the way, but worth it”

We've gone here for many years...even back at the earlier Ali Baba's on High St, to this place when it was called Voyagers. Reliably good food and great service. We enjoy the appetizer plate, baba ganoush, lamb platters, even the vegetable lasagna. Always a friendly atmosphere and it's cool when you can see planes land and take off.

“Really good food and excellent service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2011

Ali Baba (formerly Voyager's) is an excellent restaurant in a rather unconventional location. The restaurant is located in the Morgantown airport - but don't let that deter you. It's consistently great Mediterranean food with absolutely excellent service. When we had friends visiting on a Friday night before a WVU home game, we chose Ali Baba. Like most restaurants on home football game weekends, Ali Baba was busy. However, we were able to quickly get a table along the windows which look out at the tarmac. We ordered the sampler appetizer (half size) which included a dozen or so items including stuffed cabbage, spanikopita, and other delectable items. For the four of us, it was plenty of food to explore while waiting for our main entrees. It will a bit longer than expected to receive our meals, but our waitress was attentive, as was the owner of the restaurant, Elias, who came by to ensure that we were enjoying our evening. Once the meals arrived, we were all really happy with both the quality and quantity of the food. The gyro platter included a nice amount of meat, pita, and two wonderful side salads (you can select from four options on the menu including taboulleh, tahini, baba ganoush, and hummus. If you don't know what these are, I encourage you to try all four. The other highlight was the falafel platter (I believe falafel is chick peas, parsley and spices that are blended and formed into balls, then deep fried). You get a couple falafel on the sampler platter as well. Our table also ordered the lamb kebobs, which were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. All food was fresh and nicely presented. The only disappointment of the entire evening was that we were too full to try the desserts, which looked incredible. Next time, the Chocklava is on my list - even if I start with dessert. Toward the end of our meal, Elias came by again to check on things and make sure we enjoyed our meal. While I typically don't care for too much interaction with managers in restaurants, I found Elias to be genuine and personable. I left feeling that he was truly concerned with our dining experience. Overall, I was extremely please with our choice of Ali Baba for a nice dinner - even on a busy night. Don't let the location deter you - it's truly a special place in Morgantown.

“Delicious hidden treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2011

We were visiting family and on a Monday evening we enjoyed a feast with 8 adults and 8 teenagers. The food was a Middle Eastern style feast of many small plates of special delicacies and huge main course of gyro platter with roasted eggplant and garlic and tabulli ~the food all came at once it was all hot and delicious. The portions were huge! They even made a small mix-up and the owner was very attentive and quickly brought the correct item. The dessert Chocalava was sublime! It is hidden inside the Morgantown airport but well worth finding!!

“Delicious food, friendly owner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2011

Ali Baba serves amazing middle eastern food. They serve American things, too, like burgers, but why you would order plain old stuff tree is beyond me. Their humus and tabule is worth the trip, but if yiu need something more, their kabobs are delicious. Plus, the owner always stops by to ask if everything's okay. And you get to watch the planes land and take off!

One of my favorite places in morgantown.
