What do George Washington and Patsy Cline have in common? They both stayed at this house, at least that's what the friendly owner claims. This centuries-old house is wonderfully preserved--perfectly decorated with many late 1700's/early 1800's reproduced period pieces without having too many knicknacks. Super tall ceilings, very large rooms (at least the Washington Room) radiator heat, comfortable/four poster beds, hardwood floors, fireplaces, and two large living rooms on the first floor for congregating, reading, or using the free wireless internet connection (also available in the rooms). The entire house was very clean, the owner was very helpful and accommodating, and the continental breakfast included home made muffins, fresh fruit, and cereal. The table and chairs on the back patio looked enticing and the view of the lush backyard was nice. The price was the same as the dull, cold national chain hotels nearby, so give your money to a local business and enjoy a unique slice of history. It was a treat to stay here.
