Eventually met by a somewhat impaired lodge keeper who gave our room to a more "favored and frequent" guest who called as we were explaining our reservations. We were eventually given a room that shared a bath down the hall. (Constant complaints about all the hard work and a bad back. ) Our two grown adult children and spouses were given the two-bedroom upstairs at the "cottage". They were astonished and "creeped out " by the behavior of the inn keeper but there were few rooms to be had and I had already had to pay because I made late reservations. It was an experience we have recounted many times.
Tip: If you like unique experiences, this is the place but I would not do it alone.
