This is a beautiful restaurant and gift shop. The tables are nicely decorated with linens and table runners. The chairs are elegant and comfortable. I would suggest using cloth napkins instead of paper. The waitress was exceptionally friendly and spent a lot of time telling me about the menu and specials. However, I was told that most of the side dishes were not available during lunch for the larger entrees. She explained that the chef liked to serve all the food fresh and didn't like to waste so these items were typically prepared for dinner. I was perfectly fine with this and I believe she was trying to be accommodating when she said, "if you would like green beans I think there is a CAN back in the kitchen". I passed on the offer for canned vegetables and ordered a hot ham and cheese sandwich with tomato bisque soup. The soup was served hot and had a wonderful flavor. However, the use of DRIED herbs as garnish was disappointing and the soup was served in a small cup without a saucer. The sandwich was average. The bread was heavily buttered and of store bought quality. There was plenty of ham on the sandwich, but the use of American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato and mayo was boring and predictable. This was served with a side of pasta salad that was excellent. The service was great and I will definitely go back as I would like to try some other menu items. Hopefully they will invest in some fresh herbs, linen napkins, and get a little more creative with the sandwich toppings. I would cautiously recommend this restaurant to my friends.
