We had lunch here and ordered the fish and chips. It came with hush puppies and the best fries
You'll ever eat. It was fresh and really hot. Loved it!! Can't wait to return to try their fish tacos. Total including tax was $14.96. We also bought a lb each of fresh trout, walleye, sea bass, and grouper cheeks for a total of $73.50. (They graciously packed it in ice for us since we do not live in that area. There are only two of us, so we will get 8 meals out of it. Figure it out- that's a good deal per person. The place is clean, the staff is friendly. Casual and very comfortable feeling. They have a good menu selection, and have specials each day, depending on the catch that day. We will definitely return. Matter of fact we are preparing some of that fresh sea bass for supper tonight. Fish twice in one day?? It's got to be good!!

BEST hushpuppies in town. Love the Monday crab leg special. Just wish there would be bowls for the soup...kinda weird eating out of a plastic container. LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab and hushpuppies!!!! Jewel City offers A LOT of great seafood......like no other restaurant in Huntington.

Was in West Virginia on a business road trip and got on Tripadvisor to find somewhere to eat. Wanted seafood and this place popped up. Called the number given and got a recording and almost hung up, but apparently they were having phone issues and said to come on down. And we did. So glad we did. The food was amazing and the portions generous. This is a quaint place not far from Marshall College. There were students and their parents in when we ate. But not loud or overcrowded. Very nice waitress, and I wish I had gotten her name, but failed to write it down. She made our visit enjoyable. But go for the food!!

While it's a river city, Huntington WV isn't thought of as a seafood kind of place. Jewel City is a life saver-not only wonderful seafood lunches and dinners, but purveyor of all sorts of sea and land food-this is the only place in town to find frog's legs and buffalo, as well as alligator and all sorts of fish and seafood to buy. It's a smallish dining room-nothing fancy. The food is straightforward and tasty. The wait staff is efficient and pleasant. Considering what it offers and where, the prices are ok, too. The national chains are here, so it great to have a local place like Jewel City.

This was our first stop but it will be our first, choice if in Huntington again. My mussels in a buttery garlic wine sauce were the best I've had. Chicken gumbo soup with chorizos was perfectly seasoned and just spicy enough to be interesting. I've had deep fried pickle spears before, but these deep fried pickle chips are a-whole-nuther thing - delicious! Every fish entree our group had was "just cooked enough" with a perfectly seasoned light breading. Not the place to go for atmosphere or a quiet romantic dinner, but you can tell by the line at the door there's good eatin' inside.
