This is a most unique place and offers an amusing time. The hotdogs are ok, but your dining experience will be unparalleled. Take a permanent marker yo add your name to the graffiti.
I guess you go to a place like this more for the experience than the food.it was lot of fun.

Wish we could have gone to the original location for the full ambiance experience, but they closed as we pulled in. The menu is huge and cheap. Service was fast and friendly. Lots to look at and laugh about. I'll detour for a visit if in the area again, even though I am kind of a hot dog snob and prefer Hoffman's from Syracuse or Bobak's from near Chicago...these were good too. :)

You're not going to Hillbilly Hotdogs for fine cuisine and white table cloths!
You're going for a good chuckle and a passable meal at a great price.
The employees are fun and easy going, the menu choices are overwhelming but make for entertaining reading...order a dog, enjoy the self-deprecating humor and call it an experience. To the management: just clean up the bathrooms and wipe down the rest of the place occasionally.

If you are going to really EXPERIENCE Hillbilly Hotdogs, you must visit the original location in Lesage, WV, just a short distance from Huntington/Barboursville area. As I said, no words can describe the impression it makes as you drive up on this unique (to put it mildly) homage to Appalachian culture. It is hilarious. You must have a sense of humor when you experience Hillbilly Hotdogs or you just will not appreciate its attraction. I think my husband's first words were "Oh. My. God!" It is a visual sensation overload. In a funny, quirky sort of way. Cars passing on the adjacent highway honk as they drive by just because. I can only describe the decor as kind of a "hillbilly fun house carnival." And the hotdogs are delicious! Study the menu before you go because the selections and combinations are mind-boggling. The Pineappalachian is a favorite! BBQ sauce, pineapple chunks, and ham on an all-beef hotdog. It is delish. While we were there, some young healthy-looking young fellas bought three "Home Wreckers." These hot dogs must've weighed in a 5 pounds each. It was quite a show when they went to the window to pick them up. The garlic Ranch cheese fries are the bomb, as are the fried pickles. Next time I'm trying the fried mac and cheese. This is a heart surgeon's worst nightmare (or maybe sweet dream!). But it is all fun and fine hillbilly dining. And be sure to tip the girls taking your order for a "surprise!" This is truly an experience and a great way to impress out of town guests. My Orange County, CA, kinfolk LOVED it. It was a hoot and good vittles, too!
