I eat at Taste of Asia every time that business takes me to Huntington. They have a great, comfortable, full service bar and the drinks, please make mine Stoli/water with a slice of lime, are always generous and with outstanding bartender service. I consistently order the same entree and I have had it at least 10 times or more and that is Sushi Don, but it is a sashimi dish, so I have never understood the connection with the name.

When you eat sashimi on a regular schedule you are certainly looking for freshness and texture of the fish. Taste of Asia consistently provides very good sashimi that one can order with the assurance that you are receiving fresh fish. I have tried several of their sushi rolls, during each visit, and they too, have been consistently good. They also have hibachi tables, but I have never tried them nor ordered any other dish, but the other patrons seem to be happy with their orders.

Well located on 3rd Ave, directly across the street from the Holiday Inn and the Convention Center. Not a high end, big city sushi bar, but it is a consistent restaurant where travelers or residents can order sushi/sashimi with confidence.

There were 10 in our party at the hibachi table with plenty of room in between us. The chefs skills with the grill tools and food is a must see.
The 4 year old in our party doesn't like the heat from the fire displays and our chef would talk to him and make smaller fires to help with his fear
The food was tasty, but the protein portions of meat and seafood were quite small com paired to the amount of noodles and rice served. Beware of overcooked lobster!
Be prepared to sweat at the table, was very warm.

Take your pick...excellent Thai food in cute private niche booths or a shared hibachi experience. The knife work is quite a show. Prices moderate, but worth it.

I found the food average Asian fare for a small midwestern town. Server was attentive. Decor was well done. All in all would revisit upon the next trip. Conveniently acros the street from the Holiday Inn.

Taste of Asia brings the quality of sushi you would expect to find in a big city to downtown Huntington. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety and creativity of the specialty rolls, especially the Hawaiian roll, which you won't find on the menu but is a staff favorite and was recommended by the bartender. In the back you'll find Japanese hibachi, with food and habachi chef entertainment that would rival any Japanese restaurant. There generally isn't a wait but you can order all sushi and entrees at the bar, which is first come first serve. The staff is friendly but can be a bit unattentive, especially when the restaurant is busy. Most prices are reasonable, but some of the specialty rolls are very expensive and add up fast. The layout is relatively open but the booths do offer some privacy.
