Stayed there en route passing along 21 to CLT from up North. Have driven by that way for decades. It is exactly what was needed. Peopl ewere courteous and civil and got their jobs done so I could get some shut-eye!. Decent enough breakfast. VERY typical hotel and no bells or whistles about it. Glad it was there!

Room Tip: Face towards courtyard (obviously as backs on to highway if nouise is bothersome too you!)

If you're visiting the New River Gorge, the location is perfect. It's your basic Quality Inn with the usual basic amenities. Nothing special, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. I didn't have a reservation, but the front desk still got me checked in quickly. There is an atttached bar/restaurant. The food is good and the prices cheap.

This hotel was fine. Our bathroom and bedrooms were clean. Make sure to ask for a nonsmoking room beforehand to avoid getting a smelly room. There was no bathtub. It'll do for a night prior to your rafting trip. In all honesty, there's no Four Seasons or other high end hotel, so this is perfectly adequate for an evening.

It is extremely close to the rafting area, so this is a HUGE plus.

Not bad at all for a cheaper hotel. The Restuarant/Bar has pretty darn good food.

A group of friends of which I am a member have been enjoying whitewater rafting in this area of West Virginia for over a decade. We often stay at this hotel which has steadily grown more in decay each year. While the location is prime the facilities are in disrepair.

Upon our arrival we were met by a surley night clerk who could not have been more disinterested in her job or that she was actually involved in a hospititality industry. She did say she was having a rough night.

We ordered through our reservation call 2 roll away beds for the two night stay and spoke to the office attendant about them at check in. When we arrived at the rooms no beds were there and we had to wait to receive them to get settled in for the evening.

The rooms were in disrepair as well. One of our doors had signs of previously being kicked in, 2 stink bugs were found in the room, stains on the carpet and walls, along with and overall dingy look to it.

While six men are not overly picky where they stay on a rafting trip...heck we just want a clean room near a bar usually. This facility is showing it's age and needs updated. Beware if your picky about such things. On the plus side Elliott's Sports Bar is just a few feet from the rooms and has a good selection of food, wide screen TV's, adult beverages and nice folks who work there.

Room Tip: Take some Raid and/or a fly swatter.

This was a stop on our trip from Wilmington N.C. to Erie,Pa. Based upon the reviews here, we got just what we expected. The room was a bit dated, the furniture old and somewhat abused, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. I think it was expensive for what it is, but I guess you are paying for the location. We have paid less for much more in other areas.

Room Tip: all rooms open to the outside-ala old motel style.

Stayed here prior to doing the double upper on the Gauley River. Room was large & clean with fridge & coffee maker. Sports bar on site had NFL Sunday ticket so I could watch my Eagles play the Rams. Good food & price. Would stay again.
