It is hard to believe, but the Golden Anchor, located in the high mountains of West Virginia, is a consistently great seafood spot. We love their crabcakes, and the scallops are wonderful, too. We have visited this restaurant several times over the course of the past ten years. We have never been disappointed. It is a bit pricey for the region, but we keep returning for the delicious food.
There is a pleasant outside seating area with a great view of the mountains. Hanging flower baskets surround this deck (during the warm months) creating a nice atmosphere. They serve a decent portion of house wines by the glass. The wait staff is very pleasant and attentive. There is nothing to complain about as far as we are concerned. Dinner only, opening at 5:00 PM.
