Skiing was good. Slopes were a little icy, but they cannot control the weather. Tubing was a lot of fun. The new tubing area is very nice. It was muddy between the building and tubing area, but they had it covered with a tarp to keep you clean. Once the construction is finished in the summer of 2013 it will be really nice.

Kudos to the instructors who got kids and adults alike on skis and having a great time after one lesson! Intermediate skiers would get the most out of the downhill offerings there, but what was also impressive were all the trails connecting the various resorts to each other. If you're a x-country or backwoods skier, you'd have endless places to explore! The lodge and pub were very nice, and the staff were very hospitable and pleasant. Some of the beginner slopes are a little harrowing, in that there are drop-offs to the side. Once a beginner becomes more confident and can ski without losing control, these slopes would be just fine.

Just came back from 4 days of skiing at Canaan Valley State park with 4 kids (9, 7, 6, and 4yrs of age). We had an amazing time!! We did not stay at the resort but skied there, and there are some great runs for the kids as well as very well placed (near the ski lifts) warming "huts" or areas. We will definitely be back!
The resort has spent millions to upgrade snow-making equipment and beginner areas including a huge tube park. Staff was wonderful and pleasant to deal with.
Main resort lodging is undergoing significant upgrades as well.

The first snowfall of the season was starting as we were leaving the conference. This was an adequate place to stay, but nothing special. All the activies were in the main lodge, so there was a hike involved, and not easy to run back to your room between sessions. The room was very dated, not attractive at all. I doubt that I would go back.
