“Closed, wasted our time”
Reviewed May 8, 2011

Well we drove in on a sunny warm Sunday evening today. Tried to find a website, calling them (rang forever), and yelp for hours. Nothing. Showed up, the place had been closed for the day I think. I don't understand, isn't Sunday the best day of the week for Ice Cream? Wouldn't the number one rated place in town want to stay open for after dinner family scoops. No hours posted on the door, window or inside from what we could peer either. I can only assume they are closed all weekend.

“delish!”

The price may be a little high, but the product is excellent. It is worth the extra money. I highly recommend spending the extra. The shakes here are great on a hot summer day!

“Great Ice Cream in downtown Charleston”
Reviewed August 7, 2010

This place is a must visit if you find yourself in downtown Charleston or love ice cream. Located on one of the few streets in downtown Charleston that you could call charming, it almost feels like you have been transported into another city. The night we were there it was horribly hot and humid and we did not sit at the outdoor tables but there was a nice indoor seating area as well.

There are probably about 20 different flavors when you include the sorbets and sherberts, and gelatos, along with the traditional ice cream. My wife had the raspberry chip, which included huge chocolate chips in the ice cream. If you have ever had Greater's in Ohio, the chips in the ice cream are just as big. I had the Dutch Chocolate, which had an intense chocolate flavor. They had another chocolate flavor, which I think was called Dirty Chocolate and it had three times the amount of cocoa powder than normal chocolate! We were a little scared of that one.

The only downside to this place is the cost of a scoop of ice cream is around $4.00. That's a little steep but you are paying for quality.

Delicious home-made ice cream in a friendly, old-time ice cream parlor; mint Oreo was great!
