This is a great Italian restaurant in the Capitol Market, a must visit place that is in a old railroad depot/station. Fruit and vegetables on sale outside. Inside, Soho's and meat, fish, wine, etc. markets. At Soho's we had the same waiter we had at Tidewater Grill for Sunday lunch, Richard. Richard is like most professional waiters, he tends to oversell a little, but he is very personable and knowledgeable. He steered us in right direction, particularly in tomato bisque, the soup of the day. Wonderful. Inspired me to come home start making my own. Place was busy, so reservation might be good.

Best italian restaurant in town, if that's your thing. Wine selection is great too. Steak salad at lunch is delicious.

Lovely restaurant in fun Capitol Market. Very nice lunches, and then you can shop next door for gourmet groceries, WV speciality products, and at the farmer's market! :-)

With eight diners, we had a variety of tastings. Polenta appetizer was excellent. Beef carpacio was okay--meat and sauce not outstanding and it came with a huge pile of greens (eaten by another diner because she was not happy with her meal). This would have been fine, but I had ordered a salad as well. Wished the staff had given me a heads-up on the redundancy. Greens-stealing diner had tuna with sesame seed cover and thought it tasteless. As a sushi eater, the rareness didn't bother her--just the lack of flavor. And, the creamy wasabi sauce was not toned down at all. Another diner found the lasagne way too meaty. I thought it was rather bland. To quote another diner: the menu is creative. The staff needs to taste what they are putting on the table and tweak it. I liked the filet tips with plum sauce but that diner thought it was only okay--perhaps he didn't like the sweetness. On the whole, it was okay, but the prices should warrant pleased diners, and we were only so-so about Soho's.
