If you are in the mood for some great adult beverages and food that is hand prepped, Tricky Fish is the place for you. Their outdoor seating area is the hot spot, get there early to sit by the rails. They have a great assortment of appetizers and entrees to try and are mostly original.

When we walked into this place we were almost tempted to leave -- very rough looking. But it was a beautiful day and the patio outside had an available table so we went for it. I had shark tacos. The Shark was prepared in crispy balls within the taco and topped with a fabulous cabbage avocado slaw that had a nice spicy bite to it. The taco was served with red beans and rice that were so-so. My husband had an Fried Oyster sandwich served with home-made chips. We ordered an extra serving of the chips!!! The food was great!!! So if you can get past the decor -- this place is worth it for the food.

Casual dining with very good food and they welcomed our dog to sit with us on the outdoor porch. They even brought him a bowl of water. So nice to be able to go out to dinner with our pet! I had the crab cake that was excellent and my husband had the fried shrimp basket. Reasonable prices. lWill definitely visit again.

We enjoyed a lunch at the Tricky Fish in Charleston recently. The food was prepared very well, but the seafood portions were small. They compensated for that by piling on way, way too many of their homemade chips on the basket.

We had a grilled shrimp Po'Boy, which was on a small round hamburger bun, not on French bread. It tasted great, but was gone in 2 bites. We also had a blackened Mahi-mahi Po'Boy. Again, the sandwich was small, but the fish was prepared perfectly.

If you order a soda, it is bottomless. They also have ice tea and a decent beer selection. Service includes ordering at a counter and having the food delivered to you. We sat outside, which would probably be much more fun at night. Service was just fair while we were there.

Sandwiches were about $12 each and again were very small but covered with piles of their homemade chips. Hushpuppies were $4.50 and were outstanding.

It is probably the best seafood in the Charleston area, but you would have to pay $30 to $40 per person to get enough to say you had a full seafood meal. If they increase their portions and add some other side items (perhaps coleslaw and corn on the cob), then maybe we'll come back. But not until then.

We stopped before going out for an after work event. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. The food is very good, and we had a great time.
