If you like wonderful, independent bookstores, Taylor Books is a wonderful place to visit. Featuring a cafe, you can relax with your cup of coffee or tea, enjoy their wi-fi and just relax, perhaps with a book from their store. A great place!

I travel a lot for work and like to find a local business with wireless rather than work from my hotel.
Taylor Books is the perfect spot in Charleston. First off, it is in a very convenient and charming location. Other spots within a block or two include a great pizza place and local ice cream shop.
The bookstore staff are friendly, and I love a good local bookstore. But its not just a bookstore- they have a fairly large cafe with a coffee house vibe. The scones are excellent! The chai was a little too sweet and the staff need to learn more about tea, but otherwise it was perfect. They also have salads, soup and sandwiches, though I stuck to the bakery items. Wireless worked great and I was there for several hours over two days. Great street view, too from the "work tables". Lots of plugs. I would definitely recommend this place!

Nice little cafe'/bookstore on the main street of Charleston. Scones and pasteries are okay and coffee is good, however for what it is and what you get for your money, it is absolutely overpriced. Artsy atmosphere with "yuppy" customer base.

Taylor Books is such a cute place in general, and there's nothing better than getting a coffee and curling up with a book in their cafe chairs. They have a good mix of normal restaurant tables and old, cushy chairs that just hug you when you sit down... if you're lucky enough to find one of those unoccupied! I love their salads for lunch too - they'll definitely fill you up!
