Love this hotel! My husband works 2 hours away and we enjoy getaways together at this hotel. Clean and excellent customer service. Soft pillows and bed. Mini-fridge in room. Fast check-in and quick responses if questions arise. Rates with AAA are AWESOME! Conveniently located beside Charleston Town Center and Civic Center. Nice bar conveniently located on first floor. The only negative was that the toilet in our room wouldn't stop running...ever. Other than that, I give this a great recommendation!

Our room was very clean and plenty of pillows and towels and good bedding, duvet. The hotel had a restaurant downstairs so the need for a refrigerator and microwave wasn't necessary, although I like to have the option in the room. We got out and walked through downtown and were able to walk appy 150 yds to the Civic Center to see the concert we had tickets for.

Room Tip: King room, if you're a solo or with your spouse/sig. other.

Recent renovations have added new life to the public areas and guest rooms at this longtime downtown Charleston hotel, but what really makes this star hotel shine is the staff. The front desk, housekeeping and food and beverage personnel all seemed truly committed and interested in their jobs and in superior guest service.

My only complaints would be the lack of a valet parking option and no bell service in the hotel. Other than that, this easily's Charleston best hotel choice.

Attended a large convention in this charming town. However, my room was not serviced during my two night stay. Rather surprised as the convention was an important one for the city. Also, the room experienced alot of interstate noise - which I didn't expect because I was seemingly away from the interstate. However, due to a very early plane, the front office staff were very accomodating and went above and beyond to ensure I had adequate transportation to make the flight. Also, the water issues were still being experienced in town - the bottled water provided by the conference and the hotel was appreciated. I did not attempt any meals while at the hotel, but others seemed to be enjoying including a large wedding party and many convention attendees.

Every room is serviced daily and I will follow up with housekeeping to see if there was a reason why your room was missed and if so you still should have been notified about the situation and given other options during your stay. One thing I have got to say… I think its ridiculous not to let your food delivery, not to allow them to bring the food to the rooms.
The reservation deskman, came across as curt, rude.
It really but a damper on our stay.

Also, the walls are thin… can hear a lot going on around you… walls vibrate when doors shut …
not very comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feed back that can help us to improve and also allows me to respond to issues that you may have encountered. We have a responsibility to minimize noise as much as possible and will address this issue with security and also look into ways that we may be able to help reduce noise isses. Not allowing individuals who are not paying customers to enter the rooms areas is strictly a safety issure for you and all other guests. Although individuals may say they are there to deliver food there is no way we could absolutely be sure that is their intention. Therefore it is best for everyone from a security standpoint to not allow individuals to freely roam the hallways. I hope this helps you with this issue and next time please let us know and we would be happy to deliver food or any other items to your room. Thank you again forl your feedback.

We were in route to Charlotte and decided to stop in Charleston to avoid the snow in the mountains. The room we had was nice (expensive) but it smelled musty. When we checked out, we turned in our room keys. Big mistake bc you need it to get out of the parking garage, which they never told us when we checked out. If you don't have it you have to pay $12 cash to get out, which you already pay when you check in. I felt like they try to nickel and dime you for amenities you get at other hotels, which surprised me bc the room wasn't cheap!

Thank you for your very important feedback. We are glad that you choose our hotel for your stay. I have sent a cleaning team to the room you stayed in to check out the musty smell and it will be corrected. I am sorry that you did not have your key to exit the parking lot as that is a high priority for host to let all guest know at check out to keep their keys to exit the parking lot. We do have an help button at the gate that would have allowed you to exit and if you send me your address I can reimbures you for the parking charge. Thank you again for your comments it truly does help us become an even better hotel for your next stay.

Stayed one night for business. My 2 previous trips I stayed at the Hampton. Great room, free parking, breakfast and internet - BUT - and this is a huge but - rooms facing the interstate are very noisy. So I went to the Marriott. Quiet! Nice breakfast bar - with a charge. Covered parking - with a charge. WiFi - with a charge. It's convenient being directly across from the mall and I did get a great night's sleep - but prepare for fees that other hotels provide as part of the nightly room rate.
