We had just arrived in town and needed something to eat. Our bed and breakfast host suggested here. The food was tasty and plentiful but unfortunately the restaurant itself lacks any sort of atmosphere. It's great if you're a sports fan as we counted 12 TV screens in the main bar area!! But if you're looking for something a little more intimate and characterful Paddy's won't be for you. Service was just okay. Basically, the food was good but the experience was nothing to write home about.

Tavern in an old home with two huge sycamore trees out front. Good service and food. Spacious seating, not crowded like some places. I had the fish, it was great.

Located in a lovely walking town, Paddy's is in a converted old city house. There are two bars so we chose the quieter back bar. The food was excellent with lots of Irish choices. I chose the shrimp and grits which were awesome! Our server Brent was delightful!

Paddy's is in downtown Charles Town, which itself is a easily walk-able town with a quaint feel to it. Paddy's appears to be in a converted old house and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The place has two bars in it and appears well-suited to handling big crowds. The food is good, but i have to say if you put shrimp and grits, then you need to do it right! Being a deep-southerner, Paddy's attempt at this low-country meal falls well short of expectations. The crab dip too seemed overly gooey and thick and would have been better with thinner bread or crackers vice the thick wedges of bread served with it. Not the best Irish place in this broad region, but not the worst.

It's a Saturday night, if you are looking for a more quiet meal request the front room. In the back was a large bar and the band set up and played at 8PM. Some people got up and danced. Great country entertainment, sports bar atmosphere- not slick but down home. Yes this would be considered an Irish pub with many pub dishes as Irish related- corned beef and cabbage, cod fish and chips, bangers and mash, and shepherds pie. I had the bourbon glazed salmon which was excellent cooked perfectly and had that sweet hint of bourbon on the crust. Another of our party had the blackened Ahi tuna steak which was fresh and rich with flavor. The women in our party raved over the stuffed shrimp dish that they had. All in all the food was very good and none of the dishes disappointed. As a pub it had a wide assortment of beers and on tap Guiness and Smithwick for those seeking a taste of Ireland's best. If in Charles Town make this pub a must go to since the building is also historical built in the 1780's with the original logs creating an old time atmosphere. You'll have a good time there.
