“Best Kept Secret and Biking paradise.”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

If you like to bike, this is your park. 13 old tunnels to bike through on the 50 mile trail. I don't know if the trail is finished all the way through yet, but what is done is great.

“North Bend State Park”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This beautiful state park just about 30 miles from Parkersburg WV was very colorful last weekend as the tree colors were peaked. The lodge setting on a ridge has 29 rooms and a first class restaurant. Two different camp grounds, one along the river near the Rail Trail bike path at extends from Parkersburg to Clarksburg for 75 miles with old railroad tunnels and bridges. The other sets on a ridge over looking the lake. Many hiking trails, mini golf, fishing, swim pool in season, picnic shelters and cabins. this was a great place to relax with nature in wild and wonderful West Virginia.

“Enjoyable”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

We stayed at the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. While a bit outdated, the staff were great. Room was spacious and very clean. We ate at the lodge (no where else to go) and were not disappointed. Enjoyed watching the deer out grazing every evening and morning - great views of them from the dining room and back area. We had our bikes with us and explored the rail trail. Kids (teen-age) loved riding through the tunnels - very cool! You must stop for ice cream in Cairo - great little, old fashioned, ice cream parlor.

“rail trails great great lodge is very dissappointing”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

the park it self is beautiful. The park trails need a lot of care though, they are not well used and overgrown. We went for the access to the rail trails which is geat. As for the lodge. It is outdated, the food when we went @ 5pm on a sat was way overpriced and old. I ordered a pie and got a cake when they said they had no pie, but gave me only pie choices. The cake was very dry and old. Ice tea was watered down and a small side salad was 4.95. Would not recommend this place to eat or stay in their rooms
