We stayed 2 nights in the Round House. The propery sits in a beautiful location. We were told that the property was river-front, but we were disappointed that we could not easily walk to the river - two horses in a fenced in meadow blocked our path with no easy way around. The cabin was very dated - old tv, dusty lamps, dusty blinds, wallpaper peeling, and the bathroom had mold and a gross shower. There is also no phone, no internet, and no cell phone service. We were told ahead of time that the property had well water, but the water made the whole house smell. We have well water at home, but this water really had a bad odor. On a positive note, the area is beautiful, especially when the leaves are changing. The main gift shop is beautiful and we really enjoyed the tour of the caverns and the gem mining. We will more than likely return next year, but we will try another accommodation.

Great romantic weekend. We stayed at one of the honeymoon cabins. Visited the caverns. Caught trout in the pond onsite. Beautiful area. Great sunsets in the mountains. Very relaxing and romantic weekend!

We have stayed at the log cabins 3 times, and the log motel twice. It is always very clean and the people are great. Always very friendly, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. We talk with owners on every trip. They always give us tips on where to travel for restaurant's, sight seeing, etc.
You have got to check out their giant trout at the cabins resort, WOW!
Just wished they had a couple of pet friendly cabins.

Room Tip: They have six person cabins and smaller ones with a Jacuzzi, plus others and a big farm house for lo...

Two negative things about this place relate to the manager/customer service. First, he refused to guarantee us a 4pm room-ready arrival because "he had a big wedding" the night prior. At $150/night they should be able to guarantee this. The other negative thing was that they charged us $50 for leaving some dirty dishes in the sink. There was no signage anywhere stating that we would be charged that kind of fee. Moreover, they leave a large envelope on the table for the maid service -- so a reasonable person would assume that if you leave some dirty dishes -- leave a bigger tip -- which is what we did. This really left a very sour taste in our mouth. All related to customer service. Too bad because the place itself has promise. We will never give them business again.

Review of the actual cabin: My husband and I had came up to this part West Virginia to hike/camp Dolly Sods. We wanted to stay someone relaxing before heading back to Baltimore. This place looked like a great option. Overall we had a great time. We recommend you definitely food shop so you can cook in. It really is a full kitchen. The jacuzzi is great. The backporch is nice too and it is over a stream. The stream is full of fish that you can catch yourself and someone at the resort will gut and clean for you to eat (for a fee). There is also a nice working fire place. Be sure to pick up fire wood at the main lodge (for a fee).

Room Tip: Clean up your dishes or you will be charged

Stayed 2 days in Honeymoon Cabin. It was great. Cabin is basically 1 big room divided into 4 areas. Kitchen, Living Room, Jacuzzi area & Bed Room. Bathroom with shower is off to the side. Back deck overlooks a small stream with trout. Cabins are not in a wooded area they are spaced very close and right off the main road. So if you are looking for a secluded area this is not it. We actually didn't even miss the seclusion. The cabins were very quiet and you didn't even realize you had a neighbor right next door. The grounds are beautifully manincured. All in all we would definitely recommend to friends and stay there again.

My wife and I went here for our honey moon. Overall it was a very scenic experience. If you are a nature lover, this is your place. Pretty tranquil and peaceful. The rooms were not great. The water pressure in the rooms seemed to have some trouble. I imagine that having a motel in the mountains (literally in between mountains) might make things difficult. The staff was pretty accommodating. My advice would be to come prepared. The nearest anything is 15 minutes driving.

We stayed in a Family Cottage. It was very clean and supplied with everything. The river running behind the cottage was so very relaxing while sitting by a camp fire. The Staff was so nice and we have decided to make it a tradition to visit every year. We enjoyed the caverns along with the Huge gift shop.
