This is a must go to BB if you are looking for this area!!! The dive centre is a minute drive away!! There is a pub that you can walk to just down the canal, lovely summer walk. Mel and Roy are wonderful hosts and lovely people. Roy cooks a mean breakfast and vegetarians are welcomed too! The views from the rooms are lovely .. especially the blossom trees! Thank you for the stay and we will be back! all the best Zoe

Capernwray House provided a wonderful room for us and our adult son. The room was spacious, with comfortable chairs to relax in. We were able to visit in the room without just sitting on the beds. The room was immaculate and the bathroom definitely five-star! Our hosts were warm, gracious, and very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. Our favorite activity was the hike at Ingleton Waterfalls.

Capernwray House is a hidden gem but is conveniently situated close to the motorway. It was just the perfect place to break our journey returning to Scotland from the Cotswolds after visiting friends in nearby Lancaster. When we left we took a slight detour to visit Kendal and Windemere en-route north. It really is a perfect base for visiting various areas.
Owners Roy and Mel are the most welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home.
Our very spacious king-bedded room (Teal) had stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The en-suite bathroom had complimentary liquid soap, shampoo and body wash and there was a hairdryer too.
We had missed the deadline for having dinner in-house but there are a number of eateries nearby and we decided on the Eagles Head where we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Next morning we tucked into a hearty breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, cereal or porridge, bacon/sausage/black pudding/tomato/mushrooms/fried eggs, as well as tea/coffee and toast. There are also other options to the grill which can be ordered the night before. All this and the room for a very reasonably priced £80.
We have no hesitations in heartily recommending Capernwray House, for an overnight stay or for longer. We hope to return ourselves in the future.
Keep up the good work Roy & Mel.

Room Tip: Visit Lancaster/Morecambe & Kendal/Windemere.
