I'm a fan of Cacapon. I found it back in 1999, driving home to DC after visiting family in Michigan. I was too tired to keep driving, and for $50/night, it was a bargain. If you don't need a five star hotel and find the 1950s charming, this is your place. It's not plush by any means - the beds are flimsy, the bathrooms basic - but it covers all your needs, is on a gorgeous setting (convenient to Berkeley Springs) and is utterly charming. I've been going back every year for at least one night near the new year so I can sit in front of the lodge fire with my laptop and write. The basement has a game room - with shuffleboard, pool and (I think!) air hockey. It's not glamorous, but it's a great getaway for people who think a 1950s lodge is a pretty chill place.
