Well marked trails. Nice hiking, from easy to rock scrambling, take your pick. Great scenery. Beautiful views of the Gorge.

“Amazing view”
Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

We were doing a day of the gorge and this was a most see. I had spent the last year looking at pics. On the internet and was ready to see it in person, and it did not let me down . ( the abundance of deer was a great surprise )

“WoW!!”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We have heard of Grandview State Park for a long time and never taken the time to explore and find it. About 5 or 6 miles off of the Interstate and well worth every mile. GRAND isn't an adequate description of the VIEW. A place to return again and again. I am sure the view is wonderful anytime of the year as it was when we were there recently but would like to see it again in the spring with the fresh green as it welcomes the warmer weather and when the foilage is at it's peak in the autumn. We missed it by about a week...but maybe next year. We didn't have time for all of the overlooks but would like to check them out on another trip.

“Nature from a distance / height.”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Visited on a rainy / misty day. Meditated there. Somehow felt closer to the creator with so much natural beauty to feast my eyes on. Only HE can create glorious colors that I got to see. Beautiful view, tranquil, peaceful surroundings. Wish I had read previous reviews and gone looking for the turkey spur overlook.

“Best Views of the New River Gorge”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Grandview is now part of the National Park Service’s New River Gorge National Park and offers the best views of the New River Gorge. Be sure to see the view both from the Main Overlook as well as from the Turkey Spur Overlook. We actually preferred the later but it does take a short walk and some stairs from the rather small parking area at the end of Turkey Spur Road. There is a view from the parking area but it pales in comparison to the three from the tail, the last one being the best. There is also a small NPS visitor center here but it is very limited compared the Canyon Rim or Sandstone visitor centers. The park also offers seven hiking trails of different lengths and degrees of difficulty, nice picnic facilities which we used, a playground, ball field, campground and an amphitheater where the “Hatfields and McCoys” play is presented; but the big draw are the fantastic views of the New River Gorge.
