“The perfect B&B from which to explore the Yakima Wine Country.”
Reviewed April 10, 2011

The Orchard Inn in Yakima, Washington is the apple of one's eye with gourmet farm to fork breakfasts in an excellent location from which to explore the Valley wineries. Karen and Henner's attention to detail anticipates guest needs with daily room treats, sparkling clean and well appointed rooms, a very comfortable common room and suggestions for local attractions. We stayed for three nights and highly recommend the excellent value of the Orchard Inn.

Room Tip: All three guest rooms are excellent.

We stayed at the Orchard Inn last week on an overnight while visiting family in Seattle. Our rooms were comfortably appointed, and the location was easy to find after our drive through Rattlesnack Hill wine country. It is located off the road, literally in an orchard, with a spectacular view of the city and valley at the end of the short lane. Breakfast was hot and delicious, made with fruit from innkeepers Karen and Henner's orchard. Both offered an abundance of information about the area. We truly felt welcomed in their lovely home.

We stayed in Orchard Inn for two days in May 2010. Although our days in Yakima happened to be rainy and cloudy was the stay in thi B&B warm and cozy. The hosts are just perfect and they make you feel very comfortable. I got in advance from Karen (the host) some very good tips for our vacation also in other places we were visiting. I would definetely recommend this B&B!

Nice quiet location. Very friendly hosts. Nice room - not terribly luxurious but very nice. Great breakfast! We actually stayed over Thanksgiving in 2008 and had a great time.

My husband and I traveled to Yakima over Presiden't s weekend and Valentines day, we were there for the Red Wine and Chocolate weekend celebration along with attending our cousins musical concert. Henner and Karen were such gracious hosts. Henner fixed delicious recipes for breakfast, consisting of fruit from their orchard and on Valentines Day we had a special chocolate/cherry sundae for dessert....yes for breakfast! It was wonderful! After breakfast, we were able to take walks around the orchard or neighboring side streets, great way to get going in the morning. Henner and Karen gave us great recommendations for wineries to visit, all were exceptional. Our bedroom was large and very comforable with it's own bathroom (jetted tub), and the bed itself was just right :). Did I mention it's not too far from the freeway entrance and easy access to downtown Yakima AND it's quiet? Thank you Henner and Karen for such a wonderful stay.

My son was part of a group performing at the Sun Dome on Valentine's weekend so we decided to take the opportunity to get away for the weekend with some friends. When we booked the B&B we were told it was a 2 night stay because it was a holiday weekend (also President's weekend). I wondered what we could possibly do for 2 whole days in Yakima....boy was I surprised! Karen and Henner the Inn Keepers offered so many ideas on what we could do and where we could visit. They know all of the best wineries and one we passed by and decided on the way back to give it a try because we knew they would not steer us in the wrong directiion. Boy were we glad we went! They told us of many great places to dine and even where to go to watch the Elk as they were being fed.
On Valentine's Day we awoke to an amazing apricot stuffed french toast and sausage, and as a special treat we had chocolate ice cream with cherries..FOR BREAKFAST!!! I felt like a child eating dessert first! There was a beautiful box of chocolate cherries also waiting for us and later that night we had candy hearts in our rooms!

The food is amazing..Henner is a wonderful cook and makes everything wih fruit from the orchard. You should really visit them sometime....I'm glad I did!

PS...Yakima is a great place to visit as well,I was pleasantly surprised!

My husband and I traveled with our 9-konth-old daughter to this lovely B&B in Yakima Valley. The house is situated on a plot with an orchard and various types of grapes growing right outside the front door.
The owners greeted us warmly, and although they were not intending on hosting such young patrons as our daughter, they made up a lovely chouch-bed that was as safe as a crib, and even had a sippy-cup for her!
They were just so pleasant, very relaxed and were not disturbed at all by her crawling around during our breakfast - - which was superb! home baked french toast with pluots filling, plums from their garden with balsamic vinigar and fetta chease, apple-cherry juice and coffee or tea brewed especially for us.
I think that in addition to the warmth of the hosts, cleanliness of the home and lovelly food, the small things made us feel that the owners really cared, and put a lot of efffort into the B&B - for example, the theme (if you can call it that) of the house is cherrys - they are everywhere you look -glasses, curtains, chandalier... but you will only see this is you look for it. it's not obtrusive! also, they play soft classical music in the house and in all the rooms- what a lovely thought! I really enjoyed that touch. There is also some very nice hand and body cream in the bathroom (jetted tub).
All in all, we had a wonderful stay! we are not used to paying $120 per night, but for what we got, it was surely worth it.
We'd go back!
Thank you very much to Karen and Henner - out wonderful hosts.
