We went to Zesta Cucina for lunch on a Saturday. There were eight of us, we had made a reservation and were seated immediately. The food was very fresh, however being there for lunch 2 people ordered paninis, which were both dripping with grease. Other than that everyone else seemed satisfied with their food. The waitress was very pushy trying to get people to drink something other than water, unfortunately she only refilled the water once over the course of the lunch, bummer. The decor of the restaurant was great, we sat in a room with a mural of an Italian scene which was nice while we waited for out food.

The warm and beautiful setting here relaxes the relaxe the soul. The service is exceptional and the food.... The Italian cuisine is right on! Lunch time specials are the meals of the day! Lunchtime, in my opinion is the best time to go! The drinks are wonderful. Great deals and fun food will bring one back to this restaurant over and over.

We were in Yakima recently for a volleyball tournament. I was able to pre-arrange a family style dinner for 24 people with a choice of either cedar-plank salmon or chicken parmesan, plus fettucine alfredo, mixed vegetables and choice of 2 salads, which was suggested by the manager when I called to find out about making a reservation for that large group. The family style arrangements saved us a lot of money and time! The food was excellent -- amazingly moist and flavorful for fish and chicken coming out to a large group. Everyone loved it. Service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again if in Yakima!

Over the years Zesta Cucina has continued to improve on its offerings and decor, making it a first choice night out for any traveler or local looking for good Italian-style food. Our most recent visit (2/2/13) was to celebrate a birthday and staff and kitchen didn't disappoint. A nice starter service of bread and olive oil arrives shortly after you sit down. The bar (very well-appointed) makes a mean cosmo and also has an excellent variety of wine and beer.

Our table ordered salmon, crab cakes, ravioli, and a wonderful pasta salad. All were well-prepared. Over the years it's been a surprise just how good the seafood is since, being well-inland from the coast, it's can be hard to find good seafood in Central Washington. In the past we've enjoyed their steak and halibut preparations as well as their pastas.

Staff and even management were very friendly and accomodated us well (I think it helped that half our party are regulars). A year or two ago the interior was remodeled and it really added to the ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant does get very busy at peak time so a reservation (they're on Open Table too) is helpful. Do sign up for their dining card program even if you only plan on coming back once a year.

I'd also take issue with other reviewers who seem to have a problem with the prices. Dinner for 4 (including appetizers, adult beverages, and tip) rang up for less than $140. The same meal in Seattle would have been well over $200 (!). If you don't like the heat, stay out of the kitchen...

The only "knock" we have on the place is its location. It's in a fairly large building and has to share its parking with a couple of bars as well as some retail outlets. At times parking can be an issue and getting back out onto busy Tieton Drive can be a bit interesting. But then, I'd be happier if they were in Seattle.

The (rotating) red blend wine was mediocre so select one of your favorites instead. In the past, the Thai lettuce wraps have been delicious, but this time the chicken was bland and overdone. The calamari, though, was excellent.
