“Cool old home revamped into B & B”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2011

Stayed at the Rosedell B & B in Yakima, WA last weekend. Most of the old mansion has been renovated and there is new life in this once magnificent home. The beds were good, the art and painting of the rooms fun and inventive. The breakfast was wonderful, yogurt with granola, followed by eggs benedict, fruit, sweet roll, coffee and juice. The place could use a little scrubbing in places, yet I know it's hard to keep up with such a big place. Overall great and we'd definitely return.

We stayed at Rosedell B&B last month while en route to Walla Walla. When we drove up, I was in awe of its stately beauty. It really looks like a castle, and is beautifully lit up at night.
The owners Holli and Paul have done an impressive job with the renovations, and I loved seeing all of the historic photos they have on display. It was fun to hear how they found the house and the story of the renovation process.
Beautiful as it is, though, it is also really comfortable! The bed was great! I took advantage of the claw foot soaking tub, and my husband loved the rain shower.
We enjoyed delicious Eggs Benedict in the morning and Paul was really helpful in giving us directions for the rest of our trip.

This B&B is located in Yakima, Washington. The house was built in the early 20th century and is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The house and its furnishings are a step back in time with high ceilings and elaborate wood trim and floors. The room where we stayed (on the second floor) had a nice outside covered deck. The owner was very helpful but didn't get in the way. It is located in the heart of the Yakima wine country. Great breakfast!

My wife and I stayed at the Rosedell Bed and Breakfast in October 2010 and, for the value, it beats many five star resorts out there. The building is amazing. The rooms are breathtaking. We stayed in the Parker room, which was amazing! Holli, the part owner, who runs day-to-day operations, was just a delight. And, the location is so convenient to everything, including wineries, local restaurants and several other activities downtown Yakima. Go check it out.

If you are going to Yakima for wine tasting, skip the hotels! The Rosedell is a much better choice and an excellent value. Paul and Holly are the perfect hosts; available without hovering. They have lovingly restored this mansion with exquisite detail. It is neither gaudy nor crowded. Each room in their home is immaculately clean. We stayed in the Parker room which was perfect for my mom, my sister, and I. Paul allowed us to see each of the rooms, and all were very clean, with wonderful linens, nice TV's, everything a guest would need. It's close enough to downtown, but in a quiet neighborhood.

Great house and excellant rooms. We stayed in room with suspended balcony and it was lovely to sit out in the evening. Loads of places to eat nearby.

Breakfast is single sitting (no problem) with set menu. I think that shoudl have been made clearer as only option after healthy yoghurt/granola/fruit parfait was eggs benedict, no offers or options, just placed in fromt of you Great if you like it (and I did so no probs there), not so if you don't (my wife didn't).

That aside, great place, lovely dog and would certainly stay here again (though maybe enquire earlier about an alternative breakfast).

This B&B is in a restored old mansion. The house is in amazing condition (a tribute to the owners). The original owner ran a lumber mill, so there is woodwork throughout the house. It's all in excellent condition.

The rooms themselves are well-appointed, with excellent beds and extremely soft linens. The bathroom was in great shape as well. The breakfast was above my expectations for an American breakfast.

We arrived when the owners were going to be out, but they made arrangements for us to get into the house in their absence. They gave us electronic access to the house, so there were no issues with access at other times either.
