We've been there a few times. I recommend going on a weekday, if possible, even though the mill itself is only open on weekends, and in the summer (I think). During the summer weekends it gets difficult to find parking at times. The creek and surrounding area is just beautiful! The gentlemen who volunteer at the mill are very knowlegable and nice to talk to. You can get flour there too!
Continue your drive up the Lewis River and stop at Lucia Falls, Moulton Falls, and Sunset Falls is you can. Our favorite time of year to take this drive is in the fall. The colors are so pretty.

Thank Angie M

This is a historic mill that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is "the only grain grinding mill in Washington that has maintained its original structural integrity, grinds with stones, and is water-powered." Docents are there to talk about the mill and to do grinding demonstrations. They bag the resulting flour or cornmeal, which is then available to visitors for a donation. The mill is very scenic and photogenic, as is the recently built covered bridge next to it. It is well worth the 15 minute drive from Woodland. OPEN ONLY ON SAT AND SUN FROM 1-4 PM. No charge, donation only.

Beautiful setting and scenery accent this lovely old Grist Mill. The volunteers do an excellent job presenting the history, though I'd recommend some pre-visit prep for younger guests to keep them involved. Well worth taking the time to find and see and a fantastic photo op.

The Cedar Creek Grist Mill is a special place from a by gone era. It is a true working grist mill and it was a real treat to see it work. My adult son who is a really good amateur photographer loved the place. It would be wonderful trip for kids and could be fun and educational if you read up on it a little first. Make sure you check to see when it is open. The hours a very limited as it is run by a volunteer staff only. Take a few extra $ with you for a contribution and they will grind you a bag of flour or corn meal while you visit.

The Grist Mill is built along side the Cedar Creek. Pretty surroundings, 4 picnic tables across the other side of the covered bridge. Flour is milled onsite and accept donations for the bags you take home. A pleasant one day trip.
