We have stayed in other cabins in Winthrop and elsewhere, and felt that in comparison the Chewuch Inn cabins were overpriced, quite basic, and not at all cozy as described on the web site. As soon as I opened the door to the cabin I felt let down. The furniture was cheap and dated, the carpet and floor were dirty, and the fridge didn't work properly. There wasn't a screen on the sliding door, so bugs could fly in if you wanted any ventilation. The heater/air conditioner was LOUD, even at the "low" setting. The BBQ on the deck was worn and rusty. The Chewuch Inn website states "Our guests are greeted each morning with our buffet 'Trailside Breakfast' featuring our famous Chewuch Inn Scones and other fresh baked goods, cereal, old fashioned oatmeal, fruit, juice and Italian roast coffee." They don't mention that this is only for guests staying at the inn and not for the cabin guests. The "outdoor spa" is a hot tub off the parking lot. Guests can borrow a video from their video library. but this would require quests to have better than 20/20 vision and a ladder to see the 13" TV screen mounted 7 feet off the floor of the cabin. The bottom line: Not recommended.
