Description: This family-friendly, riverside brewery and gastropub serves a plethora of award-winning beers that perfectly compliment our delicious, local food. Nestled in the foothills of the North Cascades National Park, this destination brewery is a gem of a discovery in every season. We regularly feature live music and are the thriving heartbeat of the Methow Valley. At OSB, our focus is on quality ingredients--the choicest hops, perfectly malted grains, and our famously delicious Winthrop water, all overseen by our award winning Head Brewer, Kyle Koger. At OSB, we are more than just about the beer. We bring the community together, so authentic connections can be made. Come discover for yourself! We can't wait to get to know you. Cheers--" A full list of where we sell our ales outside of the Methow Valley can be found on our website.

This was our first visit and we loved having a table for two on the lower deck by the water. It was a beautiful fall afternoon and we had just finished a walk around town and a visit to the excellent Shafer Historical Museum. The beer was excellent with an opportunity to taste a couple varieties. Come with a big appetite if you have the tasty Cobb Salad. The. Fries were also really good. Service was efficient and friendly.

I rated this restaurant adequate at 3 stars three years ago, but have changed my mind on this trip. Don't know if the difference in in me or the restaurant. Nevertheless I was ore than pleasantly surprised on our latest visit. Food was quite tasty (Cobb salad and bratwurst) with very large portions. Husband liked the draft beer selection. They were out of gluten-free beer for me, but the wine choices were more than adequate. Service was prompt and attentive to our needs. The place was pretty filled for a Friday evening, but didn't seem over-crowded. The weather was warmish, so the patio seating was open. We returned a second time on this Winthrop stay and food and service continued to be very good. Am going to raise the Schoolhouse one star (up to four). A very nice pub!

We were at the restaurant at 8:30 p.m. The Brewery was closed tight at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10. We had spent 8 eight hours traveling what we thought was the North Cascade Pass to find it closed because of mud slides (two hours before we should have arrived). Having had a 24-hour hotel cancellation, we went back to Everett to go over Hwy 2 back to Winthrop arriving at 8 p.m. We quickly checked in and placed our bags in the room and headed toward Winthrop to find one restaurant open -- not the Brewery to our disappointment. I guess, at owner's disposition, they chose to close early. Bad for business. We won't be dining in Winthrop again.

Sorry you got to Winthrop and our pub was closed. We decided to close on Tuesdays in September for a couple reasons ... several of our staff returned to school and we didn't have enough workers to stay open 14 shifts a week. Also, the pub is so crazy busy in the summer we wanted to have this day off to recover thru September. We have taken into account many requests that we stay open more days through the fall and winter and have decided to open daily so that you won't miss out on visiting OSB when you're in town! We'll be open every day this fall and winter, Mondays open a 4 pm and Sat/Sun open at noon. We have live music on weekends and fun events planned during the week. Hope you do make it back to Winthrop and can enjoy a cold one at OSB.

Based on reviews we had this place checked as a "must do" and not sure I would do again. The beer is excellent, the food is average and the place is TINY! If you get a few people in there that have biking/hiking all day it can get pretty smelly!

Was there just before noon. The patio sits on the creek and was quite enjoyable. The food was less than average. Service was good and the waiter was attentive. I can't say I can recommend this spot. The only thing that was above average were the French fries. My wife ordered a chicken pesto sandwich which the menu said came on focaccia bread. They served it on a hamburger bun. My wife did not finish it because the pesto had a bitter taste. We did not sample the beers.
