We stayed in the Mt. Robinson building, room 422. We had a very nice view of the valley below and rolling hills across the way. This room had a very private balcony with chairs and a table. The king bed was comfortable as were the pillows. We used the down blanket instead of the heavy coverlet (compared it to the x-ray blanket from the dentist office). The linens did not have a very high thread count but the label on the pillow case indicated it was a "grease resistant finish". There is a FP, a rocking chair, a love seat with good lighting near, a desk, chair and free wifi. This resort is very quiet; we heard only an occasional door closing. There is a roomy closet with terry robes for your use, and plenty of towels available. It has a jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower and the only change we would make would be for the commode to have its own closet. We would definitely give a 4-Star rating to this room. The Resort has a game room (no cost), exercise room, gift shops, two restaurants, swimming pools, and spa offerings. There are many hiking trails and bikes to rent.

Room Tip: The upper floor is the best choice in the Robinson Building.

We stayed here early September and enjoyed a comfortable room and fantastic views. Unfortunately we had not booked a table in the restaurant ahead of time and it was full so we had to eat in the bar lounge/patio area. This was fine and gave us the opportunity to watch the sunset. However, the ambiance/decor of this part of the hotel do not live up to the rest of the place and the food took a very long time to arrive because they were basically understaffed that night.

My recommendation, be sure to book the restaurant when you book your room.

Room Tip: Make sure you get the valley view over the garden and pool area.

My husband and I went to Sun Mountain right after our wedding for two nights. The Methow valley is our favorite get-away but we had never stayed at Sun Mountain. We stayed in a Mount Robinson Room which had an extrodinary view. There was nice classical music playing when we enteredt the rooom and the management had written us a nice letter congratulating us on our marriage. The food in the dinning room was excellent as was the service. The guy at the activities desk suggested a wonderful hike at Rainy Pass. You can do some hikes right from the lodge but if you are an avid hiker they probably won't interest you.
Cons:
- The bed was not very comfortable. I was expecting temperpedic or at least a pillow top mattress for the amount money you pay for the room. It was just a plain king sized mattress that you would find at like a Days Inn.
-Room Service-The food did come fast but it was midland. After having eaten in the dining room the night before and been blown away, we were expecting a little more from the Pizza and Ceaser Salad we ordered.
-Deck Furniture--Iron table and chairs that need new cushions. I had to take a pillow from the couch to sit on.

My opinion is probably a bit biased because we had just stayed in the private cabin at Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth for our wedding.

I would stay at Sun Mountain again but would probably just get a regular room in the Lodge during the winter for skiing. In the summer it is a bit too far from the hiking in North Cascades.

Room Tip: The Mt Robinson Rooms have great views and it looked like the corner rooms might have been bigger wi...

We stayed there three nights to be near North Cascades Natonal Park. It is a ways from Winthrop so make sure to plan trips ahead. It was hot this trip which was not expected in September but stil beautiful. A great view out the window. The food while expensive was excelent. Worth the cost just once.

The Methow Valley is one of my favorite destinations in Washington State. It has sweeping, rolling hills, hot weather in the summer, lots of snow in the winter. My husband and I have stayed many times at the Lodge. We even got engaged at this fantastic resort.
The rooms are luxurious, especially the condo suites (We usually stay in the Mt. Robinson). Bi bathtubs, fireplace, gentle music and decorated in classic rustic - my favorite! There are no TVs, so you are forced to find other means of entertainment. They provides board games you can rent and things like table tennis in the main lodge. There is hiking right outside the door and, during the winter, cross country snow tracks and a training hill. I highly recommend this Lodge - it's a bit out of the way, but it's worth it.

Room Tip: The luxury suites are in Mt. Robinson

We stayed one night to see if this would be a good access place for hiking in the North Cascades. We decided it was too far. Not sure what people do at the lodge. There are some hiking and biking trails nearby, but they seem very exposed with similar views. The rooms in the Mt Robinson wing were very nice.ight be a good place to sit and read a book.
