Whidbey makes some yummy wines. The ambiance (and the resident cat) are great. And we used their picnic tables for a leisurely wine and cheese and grapes and baguette lunch.

We lived 45 years on the Central Coast of California between the Paso Robles and Santa Ynez wine regions. At one point, we were members at 13 different wineries simultaneously and, over the course of years, members at almost 100 at one time or another. Needless to say, we accumulated lots of wine since we knew what we liked. Far from being connoisseurs, we know a great deal about what we like in wine. And, there is a great deal that we like about Whidbey Island Winery. When we left, the bill for wine and some gifts was over $200. That said, they have wonderful wines at really rock bottom prices. Sean (sp?), the young man staffing the tasting room, was remarkably knowledgeable about wine and wine regions. Additionally, he was wonderfully personable. Between his conversation and the excellent wines across the board, we had a blast here.

Winemaker Greg and his team are so on top of their game. The wines they grow and harvest on-site make some of the finest wines around. Don't take my word for it, go in and taste them. The Rosato, White and oh, the reds are all divine. They have a fun summer concert series so bring your chairs and have a great small event space for, you know, a small event. The grounds are well maintained and they are one of the only wineries on Whidbey Island that actually grow their own grapes on Whidbey. It is a must stop on your visit to Whidbey. If you cannot make it to the Winery, almost every wine shop and restaurant on Whidbey carries their product, yup it is that good and they are that great!

This was my second time visiting. Tried a wide range of reds and whites several with unusual varietals I have never seen before....Purchased a add to take with us and joined there wine club on my last visit....

The trip there which was by ferry was delightful with time in the vicinity for lunch and book shopping...

But wine was the attraction and I will go again....

Arrived just after opening on a Sunday and the only people in the place at that time. Staff looked after us very well.
Nice selection of red & white wine plus a port. left with 4 bottles of very drinkable wine & a bottle of the port.
If you like wine it's well worth a stop. Also look out for the winery cat.
