“Great place to stay”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

The ambiance and the home-like environment inside the hotel coupled with a romantic backyard makes this place of one the best. The breakfast was truly delicious and the hosts Richard and Tracy were wonderful. I loved this place and would definitely stay there again if I happen to visit Westport.

My folks and I visited the Westport Bayside B&B recently during the annual Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival. Richard and Tracy's home is on several acres that back right up to tidal estuary on Gray's Harbor. A short walk through the woods takes you to private shore front where we watched flocks of hundreds of sand pipers and dunlin feed on their migration to arctic breeding grounds. Ducks, herons, eagles, and the gorgeous peregrine falcon haunt the water's edge. Just five minutes west the Pacific waves crash on a wide sandy beach that runs for miles, perfect for a sunset walk. A lighthouse offers sweeping views atop its 137 steps!

Our hosts greeted us with homemade cookies and lovely rooms. Richard and Tracy are friendly and passionate about their hospitality, but they also know when guests need quiet time, a lovely trait that not all innkeepers appreciate. We all took a nap on the most comfortable beds EVER, before heading to the fun Half Moon Bay Bar & Grill for fish tacos and ringside seats for Westport's large fishing fleet.

Evenings at the B&B offer a cozy great room for a glass of wine (always available, compliments of the hosts) or a game of cards. Cold drinks and snacks from popcorn to granola bars are available 24/7 - we took a few on one of our beach walks. Cable TV and a wide selection of DVD's and classic VCR tapes can be watched on the state of the art flat screens in each guest room. The immaculately clean rooms include quality goosedown linens, environmentally-friendly bath and body care products, and plenty of storage for clothes and shoes. Did I mention the incredibly comfortable beds? They make it tough to get up for breakfast, but you better or you'll miss lemon cream cheese stuffed croissants and locally made cranberry bacon, or southwest crepes with Richard's homemade salsa. Tracy's granola and fruit are a meal in themselves. Locally roasted coffee, gourmet teas - the list of tasty surprises goes on and on.

Richard's restaurant recommendations and day trip suggestions were spot on, including the complimentary wine tasting at nearby Westport Winery, courtesy of our being guests at the B&B. We didn't need reservations and never waited in line like you can from Memorial Day to Labor Day - if you like to enjoy small towns and nature without the crowds, this is the place in fall, winter, and spring. We aren't fishermen, but charters abound 5 minutes away at the Westport Marina for those wanting a deep sea experience for salmon, ling cod, and halibut.

Lastly, Richard and Tracy have two furry friends in the yard, a Chow and an Akita who provide a dog fix for those in withdrawal from your pooch at home (no dogs inside, for those allergic!). Sit in the Adirondack chairs with a glass of something refreshing, watching the afternoon sun on the bay while hummingbirds zoom through the trees - who wants to ever go home?

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are quieter, especially if guests are up in the great room in the evening. Stairs to...

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for an anniversary getaway. After 26 years of visiting B&Bs this one is now among our favorites. Richard and Tracy are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We felt like we were staying with old friends. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Our room was beautiful and comfortable with a fantastic view. The grounds were just lovely. The breakfast absolutely delicious. Tracy's homemade granola and cookies are the best. A great selection of tea and some of the best, specially roasted coffee is always available. We'd love to stay again, as much for seeing Tracy and Rich as for visiting Westport. :) We've already recommended Westport Bayside B&B to family and friends. Book a room. You will not be disappointed.

We were on our Olympic Pennisula tour and stayed at this B & B. We were not disappointed! Rick and Tracy are doing this right! First we were welcomed by Rich and he showed us to our room. We picked the South Bay room and it was FANTASTIC! The view is extraordinary. There were Valentines chocolates on the bed for us. Rich showed us around - coffee and tea are available 24/7. There were also skittles so I was happy lol. The house itself is right on the bay and we enjoyed a walk out to it on a path they are built. There were two chairs waiting for us to relax when we got to the waters edge. It was so quiet and so beautiful. Breakfast was AWESOME! Really a huge gourmet feast. We had a red pepper and goat cheese omlette with great bacon and fruit and yogurt with homemade granola ohhh and the coffee is GREAT! Roasted esp for them and there was plenty of it! Also Rich offered seconds and more bacon if we wanted he is a wonderful host. He and Tracy were both in the kitchen in chef's attire cooking for us. We will DEFINTELY be back one of the best B & B's I have ever been to! And on the way out they gave us a bag of Tracy's homemade maple granola! How cool is that?!!

Room Tip: South Bay is excellent the window is HUGE and the view is spendid!

Richard and Traci welcomed us with big smiles, homemade cookies, and water, wine, and beer! They opened their house to us and made us feel like friends rather than guests.

The common area was warm and we enjoyed a game of cribbage while drinking the wine we brought. The bed was very comfortable and plenty warm for a February night. We had a little Valentine chocolate waiting for us as well.

Traci's oatmeal cookies were fantastic, morning coffee was their private blend from a local roaster and I'm sure I drank a pot myself. Breakfast was wonderful! Gourmet omelette, maple smoked bacon, rosemary potatoes, homemade granola on Greek yogurt, mimosas, and more coffee!

We will be back, several times I'm sure.

Thank you Richard and Traci!

Room Tip: Room 3, with a king - great bed little view. Room 5, Bayview looks most romantic, has a queen size.

My husband and I stayed here while traveling the Pacific-Northwest for our honeymoon. Our stay was perfect and we are already trying to plan a return visit! The bed was extremely comfortable, our room was clean and comfy, and the atmosphere was perfect! The breakfast was delicious, so much so that I had to ask for a couple recipes! Also, Richard and Tracy were wonderful hosts, they thought of every last detail to make you feel at home. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and would highly recommend staying here!!

Room Tip: All of the rooms appeared lovely, there are a couple that have spectacular views though!
